My Apologies for the Delayed Blog Posts: Data Updated!!!

For my loyal reader (one day I hope to pluralize that),

Unfortunately, someone (cough, kids with netflix, cough, cough) killed all of our data for the month and we have been waiting for our data to renew. I thought somewhere along the way that we would find free wifi and I would be able to update our adventures. Unfortunate, all the state park wifi I've encountered has been worse than my current connection. To put it into perspective, it just took 16 seconds to fully load google.ca on my laptop.

After finding no wifi in our travels, I decided to endure the extended wait and start posting text of our travels. I will update with pictures when possible. I will now wait a minute or two for this post to publish. My sincere apologies.

Our data has since been updated and somehow we have used 4 gb on my phone in 6 days. This does not bode well.

Across Florida for the 5th and Final Time

Monday, March 21st – Tampa to Orlando to St. Augustin, Florida – Day 42  We are continuing our escape from Florida very slowly. We want to go up the east coast, but we are on the west coast so time to cross the State. Fortunate for us, Caley and Andrew were still in Florida at a resort, halfway between St. Augustine and Tampa, in Orlando. They invited us for a beautiful spaghetti dinner. We had some time before we had to arrive and decided to check out the trails in Little Manatee River State Park.   I think Little Manatee River was one of my favourite parks so far and I wish we had more time here. The sites were big, spread out and had grown vegetation, so you were blocked from your neighbour. It was a five-minute drive to get to the campsite, so it was in the middle of the bush which allowed a very quiet environment. The songbirds in the morning were lyrical and boisterous. It was peaceful and relaxing.   We stopped at the trails where there happened to be a p...

The Scent of Lavender

Wednesday, February 23rd – Leaving Grayton Beach to Panama City, Florida – Day 16   Packed up the trailer and got on the road. We were told that the highway 30A was beautiful so we started driving along. Before we went far, we went through towns called Seashore and Watercolour. These must have been planned and built as a group. The houses were painted in water colours, two storey beautiful little vacation rental buildings with narrow winding streets that fed the main strip. Everyone was riding bikes or golf carts around, sitting on patios have food. It looked like a beautiful place to have a summer home or retire to. We walked down the main strip for a little bit before we got back in the car. Further on 30A we went through palm tree lined avenue where it looked like the real wealth accumulated. No stops now but it was pretty pleasant to drive through.   As we drove down the coast, we entered Panama City and stopped to go to the beach for lunch and a swim. The kids g...
